Psalm 23:4
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Through life’s journey, everyone will encounter valleys in their lives, but as for believers, it’s God’s love and blessing in disguise. Valleys are low areas surrounded by high mountains on either side. Each valley has its different levels of challenges. While some can be shallow and difficult, others can be deep and filled with great despair.
Our Father has ordered our steps, and He will keep the feet of his saints. Remember, His thoughts and ways are much higher than ours. Therefore, let us embrace every day we spend on earth as a gift from the Lord. Rejoice and be glad because He had us on His mind when He created it. Each day God created purposely to help us to grow deeper in grace. In each valley, He holds our hands, a constant reminder that I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. It doesn’t matter how difficult it maybe we will never be alone.
Our hearts can easily be drifted away with religious activities and neglect the presence of the Lord. God is faithful to remind us of our relationship with Him. He uses every valley to refocus our hearts on the Lord. Let’s take a moment and look back at the valleys of our lives. Notice the pattern, how every situation challenged us to seek the Lord on a deeper level. As the depth of the valley calls the depth of our heart. In each valley, He reveals His presence and strengthens the relationship.
Christianity is not a religion but a relationship with Christ. Many hearts are coated with activities while suppressing the relationship. God led us through the valleys to strip away religion, so our relationships may flourish. Each removal increases our heart’s desire for the Lord as our relationship grows.
Dear brethren, the valleys of our lives are where we get to know the Lord personally. A secret place of intimacy where only you and the Lord are alone. In His presence, there is no fear as the Lord holds your hand to comfort you. Remember, you are the apple of His eyes, and He longs to be with you more than you desire to be with Him.
