Exodus 12:13
And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are:
and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague
shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.
The Egyptians were brutal, merciless taskmasters and unconcern with the people of God. Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save alive. Because of the Pharaoh's order, a deep cry came from the hearts of the Israelites to be set free. The Lord heard their cry by reason of their taskmaster.
The Egyptian fear no one, not even God. They order the drowning of newborn boys, trying to stop the coming deliverer. In addition, this was their method of population control, keeping them weak and in bondage. God was furious with their crime against the people.
God commanded the people to sacrifice a lamb without blemish and applied the blood on the doorpost. The blood is God’s seal of salvation for His people from the coming plague, the angel of death. The angel of death will visit everyone without exception. Where the blood is applied, death will pass by. However, if the angel does not see the blood, death will stop and take its victims.
God sent ten plagues to Egypt, but Pharaoh refused to let the people go. Therefore, God hardened his heart beyond the point of repentance. With each plague, his anger against God and the people increased. The last plague that God sent was death. At midnight the Lord smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon. Pharaoh had sown into death, and now he will reap from death.
Dear brethren, some people do not believe in God, heaven, or hell. They are fearless in committing crimes against the people like Pharaoh did. God sees everything is furious with the wicked every day. The day of reckoning is quickly approaching on earth. The wicked will say to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb. However, those under the blood of the Lamb shall be saved from the wrath of God, as He promised.
