Psalm 119:18
Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.
Born in the flesh, we have natural eyes that can only see into the visible things of this world. A veil of darkness and ignorance covers our eyes, preventing us from seeing the invisible things of God. There is an unmeasurable and unlimited blessing to those with eyes to see into the invisible. Unless the Lord opens our eyes, we will remain in the darkness and without discernment.
Sometimes time the blessing of the Lord is in front of us. We ask, and God is faithful to give, but our natural vision prevents us from seeing His spiritual blessing. Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. Elisha saw what the young man could not see.
In Jericho, Jesus was passing by a blind man who sat by the wayside begging. The crowd was loud, and they told him it was Jesus of Nazareth passing by. The blind man cried, saying, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me. Jesus stopped and asked What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight. Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee. And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.
Hagar the Egyptian, and Ishmael, her son, were sent away by Abraham into the wilderness of Beersheba. They ran out of water in the wilderness, and we’re about to die of thirst. Ishmael prayed, and God heard the voice of the lad. The Lord opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink. Ishmael became a great nation as the Lord promised Hagar.
These are just a few examples of those that ask the Lord to see in the spiritual. The blessing and provision of God are all around us, and only those with eyes to see into the spiritual are able to receive it. Therefore, ask, and the Lord promises that you shall receive. For every one that asketh receiveth. Brethren, don’t settle for less our God has so much to give.
