Matthew 16:19
…I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, God reached down and chose us. God, in His infinite wisdom, mercy and grace adopted us. We, on the other hand, had no choice in the adoption.
Our adoption gives us a new identity with a different purpose and destiny. We are no longer children of wrath and destruction, but we are sons and daughters of the Most High God. Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. Being a child of God comes with a tremendous amount of privileges, blessings, and responsibilities. Consider for a moment what God said: Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine. Our responsibility is to use what He gave us for His purpose.
Father has granted us access to His presence by giving us the keys to His kingdom. Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. In His presence, we may ask according to His will and it shall be done. If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? We should ask ourselves why we aren't asking for more since promises such as these are given to us?
There is great wickedness that hovers over the land today. Behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people. Calamity and pestilence occur more often on the earth. The spread of sin corrupts and decays society. These events taking place on the earth are a reflection of the things taking place in the spiritual world. Man has tried to find a solution to the problem in his own strength and knowledge, but instead, matters are getting worse. Paul said, We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. It is impossible to win a spiritual war with natural weapons, however, we can be victorious in the naturals by fighting in the spirituals.
Keys to the kingdom are secured by calling on God through prayer. Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. Key is given to responsible people for the intention of locking and unlocking doors. It doesn't matter how difficult the situation may seem. As we war in the spirituals changes will begin to happen in the naturals. Remember, the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds. Through prayer, we can see the healing of incurable sickness, families, neighborhoods, and the nation. Through prayer captives are set free, generational curses are broken and life begins where death once dwelt. Father has given us the keys to change situations; let us be responsible with His gift and do the Father's will.
