Jeremiah 23:6
THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS
Throughout history, ancient civilizations have come and gone. Such as were the Egyptian elites in whom their fearful thoughts of losing their positions and possessions have driven them to deceptive religious beliefs regarding the afterlife. They were obsessed with immortality to the point of denial. They believed that even if they died, they would still rule and maintain their riches in the next life. If they had a way to somehow escape their inevitable death and the judgment that follows after, they would do it hands down. However, history proves that no one can escape as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment. They left behind their monuments, and earthly treasures as a testimony, declaring the scriptures to be true. Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither.
Today, not much has changed. On every level of society, humanity has strived to improve. Obtaining optimal health and building wealth before death is what people consider the good life. Even though those goals are obtained, many are still left with a void in their soul. Many have turned to spiritualism seeking enlightenment and assurance in the afterlife. At the same time, others do not care for nor do they believe in a heaven or hell. They believe that this earthly life is all that matters, so get what you can now before you die. Ignoring the truth about death does not make it avoidable. The truth is that we will all give an account for our actions sooner or later. There is no escaping death or the afterlife.
According to the scriptures, There is none righteous, no, not one. What chance does any sinner born in this world have to stand before a Holy and righteous God on judgment day? Satan, the accuser of the brethren which accused them before our God day and night, will be a witness against us. The truth is that we are all guilty of his accusations. There are no good works anyone can stand on to justify our actions. No matter how good we think we are, we stand convicted of the crimes committed against God and are worthy to be condemned to hell forever.
However, God, in His long-suffering is willing that none should perish said, Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. Come, the invitation is for whosoever is willing to be pardoned and forgiven of sin. Only by the grace of God in Christ Jesus can we be saved from our sin. Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
On judgment day each individual will stand before a Holy and righteous God. Each one must give an account for their sins. Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels. Satan accused them, but said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am. The answer came quickly from the Father. Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. Will you reason with the Lord or will you take matters into your own hands?
