Statement of Faith
We, the people of Gethsemane, hold the following beliefs with strong conviction:
The Bible is the inspired and only infallible Word of God, a revelation from God to mankind. There is only one true God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Our Lord Jesus Christ was supernaturally born by virgin birth, lived a sinless life as divinity in the body of a man and performed countless miracles. He atoned for our sins through his vicarious death, bodily resurrection and ascension to the right hand of the Father. He will personally return to this earth in power and glory. Mankind has fallen into sinfulness, and the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the redeeming blood of Jesus Christ. Salvation can only be obtained by receiving the Lord Jesus Christ as one's personal savior; regeneration by the Holy Ghost is absolutely essential for personal salvation. Divine healing is available through the redemptive work of Christ on the cross. The Baptism of the Holy Ghost is available to believers today, just as it was at Pentecost 2000 years ago. Its evidence is the speaking with other tongues which the Spirit of God gives believers to speak. The Church of Jesus Christ is the universal, spiritual body of believers from every tribe, tongue, kindred and race of peoples. In the resurrection and final judgment of both the saved and the lost, those that are found in the Lamb's Book of Life will have everlasting life, but those that are not found in the Lamb's Book of Life will be lost in an everlasting punishment in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone.
